Stuart Interiors was involved from the project's early stages, drawing on its expertise in historic joinery, furniture and interiors to re-present the Renaissance Palace at Stirling Castle after years of research by academics and craftsmen.
Researched elements included oak shutters with hand-forged ironwork, textiles for wall hangings and upholstery, painted walls and ceilings, and solid oak furniture — all designed to show the interiors as they may have looked in the 1540s.
The result has been described as a feast for the senses — a rare chance to walk through a Renaissance royal apartment as it once stood.
