Manor House, Oxfordshire

Oxfordshire

Working directly with the client, we used existing period joinery references as a starting point for several areas of this 17th-century Oxfordshire manor house.

The Drawing Room's oak joinery draws on the Perne Library at Peterhouse College, Cambridge, including oak double doors, early 17th-century-style panelling and an overmantel. The firm also made the Knole settees, an Elizabethan-style oak desk, and pewter wall lights for the room.

A Tudor arch links the Entrance Hall and Piano Hall, with full-height oak panelling in both rooms, and solid oak planked and panelled doors run across the ground and first floors. The Master Bedroom takes its cues from late medieval design, with parchemin-panelled oak wardrobes, a medieval-style tester bed, a gothic low table, and a bespoke television cabinet.
